Happy New Year!

Martin has kindly sent these pictures

Of his latest submarine build

As was seen being tested in last month's newsletter

It is a type IIB U boat

amazingly realistic rust on the plating!

Chris Jenner shared these pictures of progress, marking out the waterline on his Huntsman

setting up level

drawing a line with the aid of a laser level

masking up having cut thin strips of masking tape

and the result - probably not actually sprayed on the dining table!

They say that 3D printing is a hobby in its own right. However, it can be very useful resource in the world of model boats.

Ken Pond has now joined the world of 3D printing having bought a Creality 6

John K's Creality Ender 2 (ex of Chris Monk) is still going strong.

Drawing an object in 3D takes time and the result doesn't always come out right first time....

......but once done, It is a good investment in time to produce many similar items like these 14 fenders for John B

and these deck fittings for Fairey Marine boats, all printed in ABS

The finished attempt at a 1:8 Lofrans Royal anchor winch, ready to be fitted to the model

This month's video recalling when we could go boating is of Mark's voice controlled boat
